Dear Student,

 

Before you can have access to your Blackboard course site, you might be interested in finding out some information about your class so that you can better understand and better prepare for it. Of course there is the course website that contains most information you will need before the course. However, that course site is not interactive. A wiki is! That's the whole point. If you have a question, you can post it here and get an answer quickly and vice versa. Since all class members can post to and edit this site, my idea was to create a fairly sophisticated Q&A page for our course that will help with your orientation. So go ahead. Take a tour about wikis and then ask and answer questions about the course.

Text Book

 

Q:  On the course website it is indicated that the shrink wrapped version of Universal Keys for Writers will provide us access to Smartthinking.com.  The bookstore says that they have the newer version and can't get the shrink wrapped version.  Will a new copy of the book suffice to gain us access to the site?

 

Unfortunately, it's onbly the shrink-wrapped version that allows you to use smarthinking.com--at least this is the lates that I know. You might want to give a call to the publisher and ask them about their policy.

 

 

Course Calendar?

 

Is the course calendar up?  When I use the link provided to access the course, calendar, I get a "bad link" response. 

 

No, it is not yet available. It will be ready by the first day of classes.
